Every new fashion season deserves a close look. I want to be very familiar with the newest trends so I can steer you towards them or away from them. As I help you pull your looks together this year, we’ll be influenced by what the designers were showing on the runways all over the world. I’ve compiled my fashion takeaways. Maybe some of them will be finding a home in your closet or, even better, they are already there.

Looking ahead: Trend forecast colors for 2025
Attending a Spring/Summer 2025 trend presentation filled me with hope. Predictions of colors like green, black, chocolate brown, and muted pastels for Spring/Summer 2025 echoed a sense of continuity and sustainability.

S/S 2024 Trend: Denim
When it comes to spring and summer fashion, there's always a whole wide range of trends worth exploring. Think about denim pieces that never go out of style, perfect for that casual yet chic vibe. Strapless tops and dresses can add a touch of elegance and show off those sun-kissed shoulders. Fringes bring a playful and bohemian flair to your outfits, while 3D flowers add a whimsical and romantic touch. Utility-inspired clothing with its functional yet stylish designs is another trend to consider, offering versatility and practicality. For those looking to make a statement, cut-outs and asymmetrical details can add an edgy and modern twist to your wardrobe.

S/S 2024 Trend: Trench Coats
Key pieces such as trench coats, skirts, vests, wide-leg pants, blazers, mini-skirts, and pointy-toe shoes were prominently featured on recent runways, suggesting a cohesive fashion cycle. With these trends, you can mix and match to create your unique and stylish looks for the warmer seasons ahead.

S/S 2024 Prints and Paterns: Polka dots, Florals, Stripes
What concerns me: Transparency
Designers went crazy this season with transparency. Transparency though, if done right, can be sophisticated and sensual at the same time.
Make it subtle and you will be on the right path.

What thrills me: Skirts
It has been a while since I have been attracted to skirts. Perhaps the frustration of finding those perfect fitting pants was the reason that stirred me towards them.
Romantic and feminine, pleated, straight, A-line, there is a style that is right for you, I’m going to suggest you wear them every chance you get.
What has me joyful: Bermuda shorts

Bermuda shorts could be a possible spring/summer choice instead of the micro shorts seen in many runways. If we put you in a neutral-colored cotton pair that came to the knee and added a blouse and/or a blazer and flats, it could be a great work outfit. We could get a pair in satin and you could wear it with a pretty top, layered necklaces, and pumps for the evening.

S/S 2024 Trend: Leather
What fascinates me: Leather
Leather might not typically be associated with Spring and Summer fashion, yet it made a significant appearance on the runway this season. From dresses to pants, shorts to skirts, tops to pantsuits, leather was everywhere. If you're considering investing in a leather piece, prioritize choosing a key item that aligns with your personal style rather than a fleeting trend. The reality is that leather remains a timeless presence in fashion, fluctuating in popularity from year to year.
What makes me curious: Sleeveless jackets
While it might seem like a good idea to wear a sleeveless jacket during the warm months of the year, the sleeveless jackets looked like they were missing something…oh yeah, the sleeves! I think there are better ways to beat the heat while still looking great.

S/S 2024 Trend: Pastels
What makes me cringe: micro anything!
Micro shorts, micro tops, micro skirts. No further explanation needed.
If you're considering experimenting with various hemlines, remember that the eyes naturally stop where the line stops.
What delights me: Metallics

Every color palette includes a touch of metallics. With metallics trending, now is the perfect time to invest in accessories and key pieces that will remain stylish in your wardrobe for a long time.
Whether you choose to embrace whites or opt for silver, there's no better color to wear than one that suits you naturally. Investing in silver or platinum accessories would be a wise choice.

What frightens me: Socks
Knee highs or ankle socks with shoes and sandals remind me of my years of elementary school. Perhaps they are trying to train the eyes that pantyhose will be back. Who knows?
What excites me: Monochromatic elongated silhouette.

The simplicity of line tailoring combined with the monochromatic color combination gives the feeling of sophistication, refinement and elegantly put together.
As I embark on my journey through my sixties, I celebrate my personal style evolution, prioritizing relevance over momentary trends. While trends may fade and flow, I firmly believe that dressing to embody our essence is paramount, far more meaningful than merely chasing fashion fads. It's about cultivating a sense of timelessness and sophistication, staying current while remaining true to ourselves. Let's embrace sustainability and maximize the potential of our existing wardrobe, creating a lasting impact with every outfit choice. Join me in embracing a style journey that transcends trends and reflects our unique essence.
